Notes
Turkey is a fun and technically challenging circuit. A couple of turns can cause a bit of stress—especially the infamous quadruple apex Turn 8—but the surface and run-offs are very kind.

Like every Turkey set up should do, this one favours the high speed turns without sacrificing too much top speed by increased drag on the rear wing. It holds momentum and drives out of corners well so KERS can be focused on passing if need be. But for exiting Turn 7, you should push 4th gear a bit with KERS as you go up the hill. I tried reducing the length of 4th gear to help it accelerate more, but if it goes any shorter, it will probably begin hindering drive on other parts of the track—it;s a popular gear.

The car holds strong on Turn 8 and I've tuned 6th gear so you just keep your foot planted. Lifting off is for pussies and shifting to 7th gear after the second apex is a big no-no because the turn will drop the revs again very quickly approaching the third apex. Only shift into 7th after you've passed the fourth apex.

You'll also find ripple strips aren't too kind if you whack them hard or ride them. Because of Turkey's great surface, the car's dumped on its nuts with fairly firm suspension so it won't absorb bumps and accelerate well on them. Also, the downforce will make sure you spin out if you are too aggressive turning over ripple strips with speed.

Braking is tuned for late braking and vigorous turn-ins to the corner.

Final Thoughts
I'm really confused that running optionals shaved less than half a second off and that's it. I'm still very new to the game so I don't know if things like track and air temperature come into play. I assumed it's probably something to do with my fuel load or me just not being that good.

LOL!

I hit up the 58 lap race this afternoon but i paused on lap 15 because friends came over. I drank 3 wines, 2 scotches, and am now on wine number 6...thought I could keep nailing a win (7s ahead on Primes with the front-runners on Optionals) but I went from low 1:37 to a 1:42 and Mark Webber now close to drafting my ass...in one lap.

So here's a tip. Don't play this game whilst mildly to moderately drunk. As much as you want to, it's not gonna be good...

Just changed the time and car in the first post. Applied this setup to a redbull and gained a 1.121.070. At the time was around 94th in the world

I finally got around to finishing the race today (had a really busy week).

The car performed exceptionally and did exactly what I planned over the race distance. I shredded some primes struggling to pull distance from the main pack. But then I put on some option tyres and started pulling away. Then with the low fuel load a second set of options on at the end, I just kept seeing purple times popping up. I was trying my hardest to break into the 1:24s, but am extremely satisfied that I got a few low 1:25s.

I finished with a 40-something second lead (woo!), the car handled very well, but I did have a high speed spin out exiting turn 7 at one point that cost me about 8s. Just avoid hitting the inside ripple strip while planting the power down.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the Williams?

I am running:

Race Type
Race - Full (58 Laps)
Placed: Ongoing

Aerodynamics
Front Wing Angle: 7
Rear Wing Angle: 6

Braking
Balance: F 50% - R 50%
Pressure: Normal
Brake Size: Standard

Balance
Front Anti-Roll Bar: 3
Rear Anti-Roll Bar: 9

Suspension
Front Ride Height: 3
Rear Ride Height: 4
Front Spring Stiffness: 6
Rear Spring Stiffness: 6

I just left Camber and Toe stock, and gear ratio stock as well, I seem to recall top of 7th as 321km/h.

On options I am running about 1:28.500, and my times in sector 2 are like 2 seconds off the lead. Should I go heavier on the downforce? I am already thinking looking at the setups that I should drop the ride height.

Notes
Managed a 1:25.565 with 50% KERS used after turn 6 and the rest when coming out of the last corner...
The setup is stable enough and responds well to corners if you get the braking point right. Only problem it has is when coming into turn 3, it will slide/drift out of the racing line if taken with too much speed.

I use a controller for the PS3. (no funds for a wheel just yet)

Okay, so the set up I had wasn't able to get me below 1.26.xxx in practice. So I tried Cooper326's set up, and I was able to manage a 1.25.394 in practice, without using fuel mixture 3 or option tyres yet.

In qualifying I could only manage a 1.24.330, using everything at my disposal. Maybe I could go faster in Time Trial mode, I'm not sure. I'm in 5th for Red Bull, Vettel is ahead of me for 4th. Hamilton pole position with a 1.24.080.

This is one of the most difficult circuits for me, I find the corners tricky because I struggle to slow the car down and end up with compromised corner entry.... 1st corner I especially find very tricky to get a nice entry...

Anyway, played around with about 3 or 4 set-ups from here to see which worked best --> settled for one by saltec which I then modified:
- took off some wing as just didn't seem to need it
- increased 7th geat about 4 clicks as I was bumping off the limiter and saltec has a short 7th gear relative to 6th
- changed the rear toe because I found 0.26 made it super-difficult to get the power down when coming out of corners

My time is not so fast, I did 1:26.3xx in practice with prime and fuel mix 2.....
But for sure the car felt the best out of everything I tried.
